Service Description
Course Overview: This course introduces professionals to Hoshin Kanri, Toyota’s strategic planning and execution method that aligns organizational goals, processes, and daily activities across all levels. Through this systematic approach—often referred to as Policy Deployment—participants learn how to translate long-term vision into actionable objectives, deploy them effectively through the organization, and ensure alignment between strategy and execution. The course emphasizes leadership engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement in pursuit of shared business goals. Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to: · Understand the principles and philosophy behind Hoshin Kanri. · Translate organizational vision and mission into measurable strategic objectives. · Use the “Catchball” process to engage all levels of the organization in goal alignment. · Develop clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and action plans that connect strategy with daily operations. · Apply the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle to monitor progress and adjust strategies effectively. · Integrate Hoshin Kanri with other continuous improvement tools, such as TBP and A3 thinking. Key Topics: · The Hoshin Kanri framework and its role within the Toyota Production System · Cascading goals: aligning strategic, tactical, and operational objectives · The Catchball process for communication and alignment · PDCA for strategy review and performance tracking · KPI development and visual management · Linking Hoshin Kanri to continuous improvement and problem-solving culture Target Audience: Executives, managers, and team leaders responsible for strategy development, performance management, or organizational transformation who want to build alignment between vision and execution. Course Format: Interactive workshops and real-world case studies. Participants work through the Hoshin Kanri process using their own organizational context, creating Hoshin items, translating them into Hoshin activities, identifying targets & KPI’s and draft strategy maps and deployment matrices under expert guidance. Duration: 1 day intensive training (2 x 3.5 hours) plus 30 minute lunch and 2 x 15 minute breaks. Coaching (optional): (3 hours or 6 x 30 minutes) Participants develop & build their departmental practical Hoshin Plan that includes strategic objectives, KPIs, and deployment strategies aligned to their organization’s vision.
